I got presents :)

My shipment from Barnes and Noble dot com came today. Thanks to Gayle I am now the proud owner of Homicide: A Year on the Killing Streets, and Revolting Youth: The Further Journals of Nick Twisp. I'm so excited. I have such a wealth of reading material now I hardly know what to do. I want to just plow through each book so I can move on to the next but that would kind of defeat the entire purpose of them. They're suppose to provide me with entertainment in the midst of my social vaccuum. The longer I can make them last, the better.

But that wasn't the only thing I got from B and N dot com. Another, much larger box arrived as well and at first I was very confused. I thought someone at the warehouse had accidentally fucked up and sent us someone else's order. But when I opened it I found two nicely wrapped graduation presents from Joan and Ginette. I had totally forgotten that they were sending me copies of The Writer's Market, and the Poet's Market for graduation. I knew I was getting them because Joan told me, but I was just so touched when I opened them I almost cried. Ever since Mike first told me about the Writers Market books back in 1997, I've wanted copies. But they were always too expensive for me to buy. Also, I was so unclear on how to submit a manuscript for publication I didn't see what good owning such a book would do me. But now I know how, and I have the courage. I have the resources. Now all I need is a printer :-p

It's sweltering outside. Nope, there was no Spring for New York this year. We went straight from a rainy 50 degress out to a dry humid 95. I'm sitting here in my 2001 I-Fair T-shirt and panties. The air is insanely dry. I smell bad. Can't wait to take a bath.

Oh, and one more thing, I got voted into the BS Regs this morning. Yay!!! From what I've been told everyone voted yay on my induction. Pretty cool since I don't even know most of the people in the group. But I'm happy I got in. Allie was right, this is gonna be fun.

Enough for now,

Toodles :)

After having watched 3 hours of Insomniac Music Theater on VH1 every night for the last week I'm starting to understand why so many people like Evanescence. Gayle will be so proud of me.

We have a heat advisory today. The news is advising everyone to stay inside. Not a problem for me.

While cleaning out my Yahoo account I found this poem Norm wrote in response to an email I sent him a L O N G time ago. The date on it is November 22, 2002 so that shows you how old the sucker is. And while I need to delete the email from my account I don't want to get rid of the poem. It's so cute. It's so NORM!!! And Norm is my heart, I fuckin love that guy :)

I liked what you've done with the place,
attached long signals to make me taste a future
that no one will ever erase, so why the long face,
well let me tell you darling that our time apart
is a disgrace, for i love to hear your voice,
not saying that i didn't appreciate your choice,
but you see darling, the noise in your words
your words alone has a warm space that's stored
in my heart. So why poison a long time chat
with a short lined map of rules when it's you that
have all my attention and respect? Call me the lost
collar if you must, but please know that for months
i have been away from your presence your essence
your lessons on such great laughter that i must
trust that you will not take for granted the relationship
we have to continue to mold, thus hold till the time we
grow old.
