There's already a big Valentine's Day display in the SLC bookstore. They have long stemmed Dove chocolate roses that look really yummy. Maybe I'll buy one for myself since I don't typically fair very well when it comes to Valentine's Day gifts. In 2000 my boyfriend of two years sent me a card. In 2004 Other Mike sent me a small white teddy bear and some baby roses, by far the most extravagent Valentine's day gift I've ever gotten.

And since I'm on the topic, I might as well make the announcement I make every year around this time: For anyone considering buying me a present for Singles Awareness Day this year, all I want is EXPENSIVE JEWELRY!!! Thank you.

Sal never called me, and that's too bad because I think he would have had a good time if we'd gone out for coffee or something.

I've been taking Yasmin for almost two weeks now and the side-effects are getting to me. Mild persistent cramping, loss of appetite, and the overwhelming desire to cry over everything, including insurence commericals. If they don't clear up I may ask my doctor to put me on a different pill.

hey, i randomly found your journal by looking at other people in the sarahlawrence group (i am incredibly bored at work) but wanted to let you know, about yasmin--i started taking it last summer, and it was AWFUL. for about three months i was like a little black raincloud. cried at everything, was no fun to be around, etc. i didn't switch it because i didn't want to be on birth control in the first place becuase of the hormones, so i figured i might as well not mess with the hormones anymore. at this point i'm completely fine, but if you're not okay with sticking it out for what might be a couple months, you should find out if you can switch. :)

Thanks for the advice. I didn't want to be on birth control either but my doctor suspects I might have PCOS so she put me on Yasmin to regulate my menstrual cycle. I was hoping the pill would relieve the constant PMS symtoms I was experiencing during the months when my period never showed up, but....it hasn't. I still feel like I'm PMSing all day everyday. I definitely need to schedule a follow up visit to tell her what's going on.
