Seniorly Knoxian - SCN
May. 28th, 2003 12:52 amSo tomorrow is my final day of classes...FOREVER!!! And I say Hallelujah!!! After tomorrow I will never have to do homework ever again. And after that it's only a week before I retire from education permanently. And as much as I'd like ot think I'm gonna miss it, I mean, I've never been anything other than a student, in my heart of hearts I know I won't. So long suckers mwa ha ha!!!!!!!
Last night I did something very seniorly. Actually it wasn't so much a seniorly thing to do as a...Knoxian thing to do. I had to write my final Psych paper last night and I knew if I stayed in my bedroom I'd just fall asleep. So at 2 AM I got up and went to the Broadview. Sat in a little booth by the windows, ordered a Pepsi and some mozzerella sticks and wrote my paper. Only took me an hour!
I started walking back to campus at three. It had been 4 years since I'd walked around Galesburg that late at night and I marvelled just as I did back then at how one could walk straight down the middle of Main Street at 3 AM and not get hit by a car. It's so empowering to walk down the middle of a street, so that's what I did. I walked down Main, across Cedar, and then stood smack dab in the middle of South Street. Which was something of a feet since South Street is kinda like Palafox Street in Pensacola: a long ass piece of roadway with no traffic lights in sight!!! Shit's dangerous for pedestrians. But not at three in the morning.
Then I went to the lab and typed my paper up. I was back in my room by 5 AM, still 5 hours before class, and THAT'S when I did something VERY SENIORLY...I decided to take a "nap" and slept through the class I'd stayed up to write the paper for. Have I mentioned lately what a blazing genius I am?
Tonight I have to stay up and prepare a presentation. That shouldn't be too bad though.
Rehearsal went really well tonight. We're finally getting used to the set and getting a sense of our blocking. David Turley is one of my new favorite people :) That guy cracks me up! We managed to shave 7 minutes off the first act tonight, got it down to an hour flat! I think the show is gonna be really good! First time since rehearsals started that I've honestly thought so.
Welp it's presentation and paper time.
Ta ta.
