Well I'm finally home, back in the big city. Thank Goddess for small favors!

I would regale you with tales of the pain in the ass train trip that got me out here, but I'd rather forget the entire thing happened so we shall move on to brighter and sunnier topics.

In case I forgot to mention before, I am severely sun burned. Yes, I spent a little to much time baking on graduation day and now I'm as red as a cherry. I have a blister on one of my ears and my entire right side burns and throbs. Luckily my face has begun to peel which means my shoulders prolly aren't far behind. And when they are done shedding their skin I'll have a nice brown tan! Ah the up side of sun burn.

Other than that, it's sort of strange to be back home. I realized on the way out here its been two years since I've been in the city for more than a month at a time. Crazy huh? I've grown so accustomed to the slow pace of Galesburg life I was a little scared when I stepped off the train. It took me a good half hour or so to get my bearings, very unusual for a city chick. Everyone was moving so fast and I had forgotten where things were, there was a moment or two when I thought I was going to cry. But Mike came and picked me up and all was well.

I went on a walk this afternoon. At first my body was all stiff, as if it had forgotten how to walk in the city. But pretty soon it loosened up and I was standing straight, dodging pedestrians, and moving with a swift stride. It's funny how quickly these things can come back to you. Just like when we went skating last week. You can not do something for years and years, but if you truly love it the knowledge never leaves you. And you remember all you forgot in a matter of moments.

I remember Kevin telling me when I left the city in December that I became a ghost on the internet, that coresponding with me over IM made me into this distanced non-entity for him. Well if geopgraphic location os what determines my humanity I'm definitely human again. I'm all flesh and blood, back in my home town and ready for a summer of fun hee hee.

So many things to do now that I'm home I don't know where to start. Shrink, laptop repair, shorts, just a few things I need to get.

Mike told me something very cool last night. His Friend Linda who is a professional radio DJ just recently got a new job at a fledgeling station in rural NC. Mike says she always inquires about how my college show is going and if I might be interested in a job. Of course I love DJIng and would be interested in any opportunity to do it for a living. So that's an idea, a connectiion I might need to exploit once I graduate next June.

Graduate *shudder*
