Bought a few new lit mags today. Picked up a copy of "Main Street Rag" and found this poem by Cheryl Townsend in it. Seems highly appropriate just about now.

Warning

I told him, man
there's a storm going
on inside me that
ain't gonna blow
over anytime soon.
So batten down yr
hatches & either
settle in for the ride
or head for safer
lands 'cuz even
the red Cross won't
help you here.

That's a very angry poem. I hope you feel better soon.

Angry? Where do you see anger in that poem? It's simply what the title says, a warning. It's neutral. She saying the same thing I say to potential friends and lovers, hang on to your hats it's gonna be a bumpy night. And I wasn't feeling bad when I posted it. Don't know where you got that I wasn't feeling alright either.

Hmmm... passive agression is still anger to me, so that might be where I got it all from. sorry.

You and I must be reading this poem in two totally different ways cause I don't see anything passive aggressive about it. Seems quite straight forward to me.

Such is the nature of language.
