I've spent the morning pouring over pages of racist commentary on Rene Marie's performance of "Lift Ev'ry Voice and Sing" at Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper's State of the City address.

Jesus Christ people, it's a SONG, and a really beautiful one at that. At my elementary school the student body were REQUIRED to stand and sing this song at the start of every assembly regardless of race. Contrary to what some idiots seem to think it does not advocate violence against whites, it does not promote segregation, and the fact that it was sung does not indicate that Barack Obama is conspiring to "take over" America so he can turn white people into second-class citizens. I can't even believe there are people who serious think this! God, what fucking country are we living in where the most privileged sector of the population think they are under fatal attack every time someone who is less privileged does something that deviates from the social norm? Wake up white people, you OWN this country. Quit crying oppression whenever anyone who isn't white asserts their own power.

Poring. No U.

Actually, the U was included on purpose. I just don't like the way the word "Poring" looks. I think it's kinda weird. So, even though I know it alters the meaning, I stick a U in because I just like it better. Plus, I like the idea of my intellect rushing over words and articles, consuming as much knowledge as possible.

I know what you mean. I think "stomache" looks better with an unnecessary e at the end.

I also think "Neighbourhood" looks better with a U, but "Color" does not.
