Hello Me,
It was really busy at the library tonight. Right after Lymon went off to help this one pesky patron, a whole swarm of students came in and decided to mob the circulation desk. I have no idea why. Things usually die down after 8 cause the night classes end and everyone goes home. Tonight they all came to the library. Go figure.
So there I was handling the entire desk single handedly. I can't tell you how not fun it was. "Excuse me the copier isn't working," "The printer isn't printing," "How do I check out a reserve?" "Why don't y'all have this book?" "Can you help me find this periodical?" "I need to check this out." "Can I just get a refill on my copy card?" I'm sure I managed to piss more than a few people off tonight.
There was this one girl who was having a God damn hissy fit because I wouldn't refill the stapler for her. There were FIVE other people ahead of her at the circ desk, and she could have easily refilled it her own damn self. And i don't know why she was going insane over it. Night classes were over so it wasn't like she had to hurry up so she could turn in her paper or whatever needed stapling. Don't understand why she couldn't just shut up and wait. The vast majority of students were more than willing to do that once they realized I was working the desk alone.
My Hotmail account has been acting up today. A couple people told me they sent emails that were returned to them accompanied by a messege that informed them my email address no longer existed. So I sent Hotmail a messege asking them to find out what was wrong and fix it.
I really wanna create an LJ trading card, but, ironically, I can never think of what to write.
My room is a mess. I can't wait for the weekend so I can do something about it. I need to do laundry too. And send Gayle her birthday present. And send off for that HUD application. At least I don't have to worry about homework or midterms or any of that shit. Not going to grad school was the best fucking decision I ever made. Sure, having to squeeze all your mundane household chores into a day or two simply sucks, but it beats the hell out of writing pointless 20 page papers.
