Kings of Convenience
May. 22nd, 2008 12:45 amI am sure you are sick and tired of all the YouTube videos I've been posting lately, but I seem to be getting really excited about certain songs and poems, and when I get excited about something I want to share!
Here is this week's musical obsession. It's called "I'd Rather Dance With You" by the Kings of Convenience. I actually discovered this song while browsing The Gap a few weeks back. They were playing it over the speaker system, and I found myself kind of grooving to it. So, I memorized the chorus and then ran the lyrics through a search engine when I got home. In recent years this has become one of my primary ways of discovering new music. I discovered Imogen Heap while waiting in line at The Gap, and last month I discovered "Can't Say No" by The Helio Sequence while waiting in line at Express.
Anyway, I am loving this song because I remember that feeling, that belief that if I could just get a particular person to dance with me I would be able to express so much more than by just talking to them. The song makes me feel sexy! The video, on the other hand, makes me all smiley and giggly. Watch, listen, and you'll see why.
