Goddesses are mythical creatures?

Well of course they are. Why else would they show up in so many myths across the world? To my knowledge a real honest to Heavens Goddess has never been proven to have walked the earth or existed in any tangible capacity, therefore they are myth.

I believe you misunderstood my question. I would consider goddesses to be divine beings rather than creatures. Creatures generally possess few, if any, humanlike qualities.

Oh no, Chris, I understood. I was just explaining the thought process behind my choice.

Merriam-Wesbster Online defines the word "creature" as..

1: something created either animate or inanimate: as a: a lower animal; especially : a farm animal b: a human being c: a being of anomalous or uncertain aspect or nature

I'm pretty sure Goddess fits into that definition.

No, I don't believe that it does. Your definition suggests that a creature is a creation by, assumedly, a greater being. American Heritage Dictionary includes the quality of being dependant or subservient to another. Even if you take the angle that the myths are a creation of man, gods and goddesses were not invented as inferior beings but as superior ones, even with faults.

In short, I'm not convinced. I would continue to classify them as beings and not as creatures.
