Scott gave me the go ahead to take Wednesday off and go take my driver's written test. The only problem is I can't seem to retain any information! I keep taking all these practice tests online and I keep failing them with flying colors. I've been reading the driver's manual over and over and still nothing seems to sink in. All the information just seems so abstract. Like...I can't get a handle on how any of it...works. I know it's the kind of thing I would have to actually do in order to learn. I can't just read text when I have no frame of reference and expect any of it to stick.

I'm starting to feel really discouraged. I will feel so damn embarressed if I fail what I've been repeatedly told is the easiest test in all creation. Plus, it's multiple choice and I SUCK at multiple choice tests. I can never see which is the correct answer. Most of the time I either think all of the choices are correct, or none of them are, and in each situation I just have to guess because that SAT trick about narrowing the field by thinking through each answer has never worked for me.

There's not much I can do but keep reading the book and taking the practice tests. But I am not optimistic at this point.

What if you tried answering the questions without looking at the multiple answers first? Would that help?

I have tried doing that, and the answer I think is right is usually one of the four multiple choice answers...it's just never the right one :-(
