Have you all heard that a Chinese high school student from Texas was expelled for creating a a map of his school for Counter-Strike?

The school labeled him a "terrorist threat." Now this straight A student who was taking college courses has been transferred to an alternative high school for emotionally disturbed students. He will not graduate on time and he will lose all of the college credits he has racked up so far.

This is despicable. Everyone at the school and on the school board should be ashamed of themselves.

Tell me about it. =) There were times where I seriously wondered if I'd dreamed the whole movie. Thankfully, it was released on DVD recently, so soon as I remember to not spend all my monies, I'll probably order a copy of it. =)

What idiots. This is pretty outrageous. I mean, I can understand seeing this as a potential warning sign that the kid might have thoughts of starting extreme violence in the school, and given the prevalence of school shootings some investigation and action should be taken. But this school over-reacted, probably in response to the under-action other schools have taken. Once it was clear that he was just a gamer geek, and nothing dangerous (except for decorative swords...) was in his possession or intention, they should have quit. Hmm... I wonder if the other "mitigating circumstances" might be that China borders Korea, and gee, because of Virginia Tech, clearly all those Asians plan to slaughter good ol' Whitey... right...

At least there's a public outcry in the community. I hope this gets resolved for the student's sake.
