Deepa called me a few nights ago to tell me how much she loved the tapes I made for her. She said the 80's tape was great but that she simply adored the other one. Said she was really impressed because I'd never given her a tape with such an eclectic mix of music on it. It had a lot of classic rock and she really dug it. I'm glad because I was expecting her to be like "Carla, what the hell is this shit here? Where's my glossy pop music?"
And I found out that my brother is gonna spring for a combination printer, copier, scanner, and fax machine to go with my new computer. Yee haw!
Mom and I went down to Staples to check out what kind of computer tables they had. Mom seems to want to buy another one even though Mike and I both think the one in Laura's room is just fine. Of course Mom is all like "but Laura needs something to keep her computer on." Mind you I've only seen Laura use that damn computer once since she's been here. I honestly don't think she'd mind if we took it out of her room. But, when Mom gets her mind set on soething there's no use arguing with her. We found an inexpensive one with a neat little hutch on it, and it has never been my style to turn down extra shelf space for all my shit. So I'm thinking sometime this week or next we'll put an order in for the computer and start getting everything ready for its arrival.
Haven't felt like writing much lately since nothing truly noteworthy has been gong on in my life. By the way, is it just me or has anyone else noticed that half the friggin featured writers have stopped writing in their journals? And what's up with that? Shit! We're supposed to be writing once a week and we got people on the list who haven't written in two months. Someone needs to take those lazy writers off the front page and replace them with people who actually update once in a while. Sheesh.
Hanging out with Josh tomorrow. We'll see how that goes. Dunno what we're gonna do, guess we'll just play it by ear.
And I see no one has offered feedback on the Apple poem yet. Phooey!!! How am I suppose to improve if no one is gonna help me :( I posted it on my livejournal as well and so far the only person to comment on it has been Adrienne, bless her heart. Guess I'll just have to send it out to my fellow Knox poets Christopher, Heather, Gayle, and Norm. They always give me feedback.
Ciao
