Day Run - SCN
Jun. 2nd, 2003 08:55 pmIt's cold and raining. I've pulled out my green zip up sweater, the one I was hoping I wouldn't have to wear again before leaving Galesburg. Weather reports say it's gonna be like this all week. Bummer. That means graduation day will be dreary and depressing, possibly even in doors for once. Kinda fitting though since Mom told me last night that she heard this is the worst time to graduate from college in the last 20 years. Just my luck.
Went to the Art Department picnic with Tina. It was okay considering there was no food I liked, no one I knew, and I had a bad headache. I came home early and took some ibueprofen, but I still have the headache. Now I'm thinking it's a hunger headache. Tina said she would take me out to eat at the Broadview tonight, after she got back from the picnic. But it's almost 8:00 now and I know she's gonna be shmoozing all night long. If she's not on my doorstep by the time I finish this entry I'm just gonna go to the Broadview by myself.
My bedroom is very daunting. I have to begin packing things away and I don't know where to start. So much easier just to lay down in my bed, fall asleep, and not think about it.
Speaking of bed, I've been so sleepy the last few nights. Days too. I think...I dunno. Maybe my body is starting to detox. Five years is a long time to be in school. Hell, make it 20, that's more accurate. 20 years and almost no break. Well, looks like I'm in for a nice long rest now seeing as there are no jobs to be had in this country.
Started taking my postcards down off the wall today. Wish I couuld keep them up so Mom could see them when she comes. But I can't. It's a long hard process getting those things down, gotta start early.
I went to the bookstore today and indulged in the the year end sale. Bought a tank top I've had my eye on, and two books: Beth Ann's latest book, and Tom's short stories. They both taught me all I know about writing, so I felt obligated to buy their books. I'd never read either of their works, so I wanted to see how crafty these teachers of mine actually were. I wanted to buy Rob's book as well but all they had left was a hardcover copy.
Sold back my books. Got 23 dollars that I promptly handed over to Jen Clark. Gotta pick up my painting from her before the end of the week.
My feet are cold. Time for socks. And warm shoes.
