Old Flames and Old Shames

morrigirlYesterday I got a letter from Adrienne all the way from Japan!!! That was quite a delight as I thought she had completely forgotten about me. No, turns out she's just been busy exploring another country. It was a nice long five page letter briefing me on life in Japan. Sounds like she's having a ball. She's gonna come back a changed woman, I can tell.
And get this, Ian Wells sat with me at brunch this morning. Fine. Ya know, he's not my favorite person in the world but he was sitting alone so when he asked to join me I felt sorry for him and let him have a seat. So we talk for a few minutes and it's all cool and then out of the blue he asks if I would be interested in "trying again" before graduation!
It took a lot of effort not to laugh at that proposition. I mean, jesus what was he thinking? He and I have barely spoken for the last 4 YEARS!!! We don't even know each other anymore. We sure as all heck aren't friends any more so why the hell did he think I'd wanna be his girlfriend? He must be achingly desperate. Either that or regretful. I'm hoping its the latter. Let the bitch kick himself. He's the one that screwed up freshman year, he's the one who didn't wanna go out with me. And it's all for the best because I now see that dating Ian would have killed any inkling of a social life I may have hoped to cultivate. But I just think it's funny that he hasn't gotten past all that yet. Dude, it was almost 5 years ago, its time to move on!!!
So yeah I said "No way Ian, You couldn't pay me to go out with you," after which he promptly moved to another table and I went off to work :-)
