Yesterday I was reading the Village Voice online and what did I find staring out at me from the homepage? An article written by David Wright!!! For those of you too young to remember David Wright taught on the English and Black Studies faculty at Knox for several years. He was one of the reasons I decided to return to Knox Junior year, I wanted to take more classes with him. He was one of those rare professors I really wanted to adopt me. When i came back Junior year I was all prepared to ask him to be my advisor...and then he and his wife Audrey went and took their current jobs in Champaign-Urbana. He is the reason I got so into Black Studies. I doubt I would have been as drawn into the subject had anyone else taught that intro class. I still love you David! You continue to be one of the most influential teachers I've ever had.

And in other news it is now official....the radio station has no bloody clue when it's gonna launch! Why you ask? Well because the soundboard broke. How did it get broken? Because the station underwent renovation this summer and apparently the people who did the work didn't take very good care of the equipment. I'm wondering of course why the board wasn't moved or put into storage for the duration of the project? Anyhoo, now WSLC needs to buy a new soundboard. Then the staff need to learn how to use it. Then they need to train everyone. At this rate I won't be broadcasting till the new year.

I miss the tight ship known as WVKC.
