Let me tell you about trains.

There is but one fundamental law of train travel: that you will attract that which you most fear. So, for instance, if you are like me and dread the idea of getting caught sitting next to a "talker" then you can bet your bottom dollar that the train from NY to Chicago will be full up guarenteeing that you will have to have SOMEBODY sitting next to you for the 24 hour trip. And if you are me, that person will be a fifty year old Asian man who has never been on a train before and wants to ask YOU all about them, and what his ticket means, and where YOU are from and why you are on the train. Not only that but he won't speak very good english, so you will be stuck next to a non-english speaking "talker" for 24 hours.

Now this fear of talking basically translates into a fear of noise. If you are like me, when you travel you like to space out, just get lost on the repetative sway of the car, let it rock you to sleep. Noise of course greatly hinders the spacing process. And if you REALLY want to sleep, the fundamental law of train travel will see to it that NOT ONLY are you seated next to a non-english speaking "talker", but that you will be seated in front of the crankiest baby in christendom. And this baby will cry from the time you get on the train at one PM, till midnight when it finally goes to sleep. In case you are mathematically impaired, like me, let me tell you that thats almost 12 fucking hours.

Now if I screamed my lungs out for 12 hours straight I would at best become very hoarse, and at worst lose my voice all together. Not so with 6 month old babies, naw they can yell and scream for DAYS without losing their voices. I am now obsessed by this and want to discover what the biological reason for this is. Why can a baby scream without losing his voice, and I can't? I know the answer is out there. Prolly on the internet someplace.

But, Gemma was at the station to pick me up when I got in yesterday and that was great. It was fabulous to see her again, I've missed her so much. We came home, dropped my shit, then went to the Gizmo for dinner, where I discovered that I have 239 Gizmo bucks! And you know what that means don't you? Carla ain't eatin the the caf ALLLLLLLL term :D So we sat and ate and talked to Aaron Saylor for a while.

I also checked my mail box and found that we FINALLY got Faces. Gemma says it came in on New Years Day, my response to which is WHAT THE FUCK!!!??? We always get Faces on Reading Day. What was that? SIX WEEKS AGO? I was cursing the Union Board until Gemma pointed out the first name on the special thanks list on the front page, Randy Culbertson. That explains everything. Leave it to a Culbertson to keep Faces in limbo for six weeks.

I found out the name of the Kirk look alike. It's Matthew Gigliotti, and he's from MA. No wonder he sounds Jewish, everyone from MA does. And I should have known only the east coast could have produced such a sharp dresser. And he's Italian to boot! And catch this, his middle name is Carl. I am now convinced we are soul mates and must make it my duty to see that he realizes this fact as well.

Gemma really liked her Shakespeare journal. I'm very glad about that. I conked out pretty early last night, midnight to be exact. And I must have been really tired because I wasn't bothered in the least by the huge group of people in our living room RPGing until 8 AM this morning.

Woke up at noon, tok my time getting dressed and showered. Went to a work meeting at the library. After that I went to the mall with Gemma. I forgot on Sundays everything closes at 5. We went to the mall and the only thing open was K-Mart. Which was fine because most of the stuff I needed I had to buy there anyway. They had almost everything...EXCEPT BRATZ!!! All out just like every other toy retailer in the free world. Seeing that I of course had to drag Gemma over to Target and inspect their toy selection, no luck there either. But Gemma did mnage to find me the cutest calendar :) It has polar bears on it!!! I love polar bears. (Of course we bought it BEFORE I saw Gayle's little note in my feedbak section, in response to which i can only say...there's always room for one more.)

Came home, chilled, watched the Vincent D'Onofrio show. T called mid way through and came over to give me my Christmas present.

Guess what she got me? Guess Guess guess!!!

Give Up?

A SLUMBER PARTY BRATZ DOLL!!!!!! She said it was the only one left in the store she went to and she practically ripped it out of the hands of a little girl who was eyeing it. How is that for friendship? Omigod she is so cute. It's the slumber party Meygan doll, and she has the cutest PJ's and a stuffed monkey and accessories up the wazoo that any self respecting 4 year old would be obligated to swallow if given the chance. T also bought me this adorable T-shirt that says "Stop staring take a picture, it'll last longer."

I think she liked her sketch book. I didn't really get to ask her about it too much because I was busy prying my doll from its extra strength industrial packaging. After presents we all went to Gizmo to eat. And there we ran into Matt Lindquist who gave me a hug and picked me up :) I've decided I have a baby crush on him. I can't have a REAL crush on him cause he has a girlfriend. But I think he's cute and smart, and funny, and I really enjoy spending time with him, and I would totally be trying to steal him from his girlfriend if I were a bitch. But I'm not. So therefore I have a baby crush.

And now it is late and the day is done and I should be going to bed because i have all three classes tomorrow AND rehersal in the evening. I'm not too happy about that. Liz said rehersals wouldn't start until the 8th. She lied. I hate liars :-p Guess it's a good thing I read the script on the train.
