Finally saw Dad today. He, me, Mike, and Dad's girlfriend who isn't really his girlfriend (whatever) Sheila, went to go see the Broadway revival of Our Town, starring Paul Newman and Jane Curtain. I'd never seen Our Town before and thought it was a beautiful play. And Paul was fabulous of course. Mike and I found it hard to beleive that he's 77. He doesn't move or talk or act like a 77 year old man. It's really amazing. Anyway I can now say I saw Paul Newman on Broadway. That's something to tell the grandkids.

Dad seems pretty good. He looks fine, just a little shorter. It's good to see him again since it's been 2 years since the last time he and I were in the city at the same time. After the show he took us all out to Sardi's. I like it when we go there :) And we all ate and talked. Sheila seems like a nice lady. She's not a thing like Mary James, but that's not really bad. She was fun to talk to and seemed interesting and interested in us, so that was cool. And her daughter is either the bass or guitar player for Superchunk. How crazy is that.

After dinner we all made plans to go shopping on Friday and Saturday. And then Mike and I walked the two of them to their hotel, and we went over to the Virgin Megastore to puruse possible christmas gifts. We were there for a good hour I'd say. And then we went home :)

It's been a nice evening. And I'm pooped. I'm not used to actually doing FUN things in rapid succession. Tomorrow is thanksgiving which promises to be hectic. I really hate it when we have company. Mom gets so tense and anxious. I wish she could relax when she entertains. It's hard to feel comfortable around her when she's wound up so tight.

On an unrelated note, I had something of a disappointment yesterday. I called Derek only to discover that his phone has been shut off. And since my wallet got stolen I don't have his Dad's Connecticut address anymore, so I have no way to reach him. :( This makes me sad. I liked Derek, he was a sweet guy. I really wanted to get in contact with him. Oh well, looks like the only St. Vincent's friend I have left is Alan. I really need to call and tell him I'm home. Need to call Deepa and Elisabeth too. Maybe next week. Looks like the rest of this week is going to be filled with Dadness.

*yawn* okie dokie, bed times.
