WASP

Desire is a funny thing and I absolutely hate it. I hate wanting. I particularly hate the way I want HIM because I know that desire is artificial, created solely from circumstance. I mean let's think about this. He has been here for four years and I have never taken notice of him. In psych class we learned that proximity plays a big part in how you develop attraction to someone. You are more likely to desire someone you see on a regular basis, someone who figures prominently in your life. Didn't notice him for one day of any of the four years he has spent here and now that I'm spending at least 6 hours a day with him, I suddenly decide I want him.

I think he knows it too. He catches me looking at him all the time. I think my friends have figured out who HE is. They aren't stupid. Even if I haven't specifically said "I like so and so" they know how I act when I like someone. Wouldn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out.

Tomorrow Mikey gets here :D Which means there is much laundry and cleaning to be done tonight.

In other news Aaron and I had a very funny exchange in Am Lit today. The two of us were sitting next to each other and there was this wasp that was flying around the room. I thought it was a fly but, eh, whatever. Anyway, the darn thing lands in my hair. So thinking its a fly I just run my hand through my hair to get rid of it. Instead it simply falls to my shoulder. So I flip my hair in Aarons general direction, not on purpose, but because I was getting thw wasp out.

"Where did it land?" inquires Aaron. Neither of us saw it fly away or drop to the floor, the damn thing just disappeared. So Aaron checks the hood of his coat and his pockets and turns to me and says:

"If I find that wasp in my coat later I am going to kill you."

"But it was an accident, you know I didn't put it there on purpose."

"Still, I blame you."

"Fine, then I give you permission to fuck with me during rehearsal tonight."

Aaron smiles. "Yes, I will dim every light that you step into tonight."

I laughed. "Yeah Liz will be all like 'Aaron what's wrong with the lights?' "

"And I'll say 'personal vendetta Liz, we'll fix it tomorrow.' " replied Aaron.

We open in two days. Liz says I'm doing really well as Al's Girl. I finally found her physicality, which made a big difference in my performance. Just getting the costume and the period stockings to futz with made me more aware of how the character moved. Was able to figure out what to do with my feet and my arms.

The show is going strong. I can't wait till openning night :)
