Celebrity sighting: Bill Murray, 1:30 PM, winding the corner of 62nd onto Broadway and heading south right past the library's big ass picture windows.

At the time I was sitting at the information desk talking to Dean, and as we all know the information desk faces away from the windows. So Dean is standing in front of the desk, talking to me in that soft, level voice of his, when without any change of tone or inflection, without even a pause in the sentence he says "there's Bill Murray." I turn around and, yes, there is Bill Murray, walking down the street with a scraggly looking man and a well dressed young lady, all in the rain, none with an umberella. He was wearing a royal blue fleece pull over, and his hair was a little messy. It was so cool!

Mom and Michael are usually the ones who have celebrity sightings. Michael literally ran into Robert DeNiro in the street for Christ sake! He waited on David Schwimmer when he came into HMV looking for Jazz album recommendations. He stood next to Gene Hackman in Barnes and Noble. I never see anyone! (Well, except for that time I saw Ally Sheedy walking her dog. And that time Isaw Kyle Secor in Barnes and noble, browsing the sci-fi and fantasy section no less. And that time I saw Rick Moranis pushing his kid in a stroller. Okay maybe I've had a few more sightings then I like to admit.) But THIS! This was great! Mike will flip out when I tell him. He would gladly lick Bill Murray's toe jam.

Speaking of Michael, he spent the night at Mom's last night, in her bed no less, forcing her to sleep out on the sofa. Why you ask? Because he went and got big time hardcore shnockered with his best friend last night. Really, he was fall down, sloppy drunk. I hadn't seen him that loaded since his 21st birthday. Michael and Eddie had been drinking down town, and at 11:00 or so he called mom to tell her he was heading up to our place so he could pick up his bookbag before going home. When he called he had just gotten off the train at 72nd Street, said he was gonna walk the rest of the way. Mom started fretting before the handset hit the reciever. Said he sounded REALLY bad and she was worried that someone would try to mug him or something. (On the Upper West Side? Mom, please!) Anyway, she put on her coat and decided she'd go meet him half way. About 10 minutes later the two of them came through the door. "He tossed his cookies on 86th St." Mom announced. Mike stumbled in and started slurring at me.

"Hey Michael, you know what? You sound just like Arthur," I said.

"See that?" he asked pointing to his puke spattered sneaker. "That, used to be inside....and now...it's outside."

Mom was quick to hustle him into the bathroom, where he stayed for an unusual amount of time. When mom poked her head in to see if he was okay she found him lying in the bathtub. Apparently he had fallen in and been unable to get out. Mom fished him out, he promptly threw himself across her bed, and fell asleep. Fun and games at the Criscuolo house last night. I was AIMing Mike about an hour ago. He doesn't remember any of it.

This is my last day of work before Christmas. I'm pulling a 9-5 shift. After work I'm gonna go see my landlady, and Mom is coming with so she can take a look at my apartment. It has been a slow day and I'm totally loving it. Most of the students have left for winter break already. Right now the library is the best kind of quiet. Couple of aids have dropped in today to say hi: Chris, Aisa, Jeremy, and Dean, who talked to me for almost an hour.

Jennifer and I are the only two staff members in today, and because of that she has been lavishing me with affection. Not long after we arrived this morning she gave me a Christmas gift asking me not to mention it to any of the other staff memebers because she hadn't gotten them anything and she didn't want anyone to be jealous. It was a pretty new leather wallet. I was pleased, but of course I felt guilty cause I hadn't bought her anything. Then I reminded myself that I'm buying my mother a 200 dollar hood light this Christmas and didn't feel so bad. Later she treated me to lunch.

As a day, this one has been pretty good to me. I hope it continues to be.

I accidentally drove down the street that his movie was opening on last week or the week before.
