Why thank you silly meme, I can always use an ego boost :-D

I figured out how I'm going to move, don't know why I didn't think of this before: U-Haul! Michael has a driver's license and I have the dough so we can just rent a U-Haul truck and do everything ourselves. Problem solved. Tomorrow I'm gonna go up and take some measurements. Don't wanna lug all my furniture up to the Bronx only to discover I can't fit it all in my apartment. I already have an image in my mind of how I'd like to set it up, so tomorrow afternoon I'll go mark the walls and carpet with masking tape, see what items can fit where. It's a good thing I have more than one of almost everything. For instance, we have two computer desks, one with a hutch, and one without. If the hutched one won't fit, I can move the un-hutched one in. I've got two potential dressers, one smaller then the other. If the bigger one won't fit in the space provided, I have a back up. It's always good to have a back up.

Tomorrow evening Michael and I are going to see the revival of Paula Vogel's "The Baltimore Waltz." I've never seen any Paula Vogel, though I did do a scene from her play "The Oldest Profession" in Mr. D's Beginning Acting class. Yes me, Katie Gourd, and Melisa Moster did a scene in which we played a trio of sixty-something professional prostitutes arguing over who gets to be the new Madam now that our old one has died. It was a fucking hilarious scene, and we pulled it off pretty well. I remember both Katie and I had been up all of the previous night working on other finals so we were shot by the time acting class rolled around. Something really bad happened to Melissa because she wasn't on time to class, and Katie had to call her dorm room and wake her up saying "Melissa, we need you to come in so we can do our acting final." Melissa showed up ten minutes later, tears pouring down her face. She never told me what happened, but whatever it was had turned her into a total wreck. I remember thinking "Oh shit, we are totally gonna bomb," and I took my position on stage having already resigned myself to my fate. Thankfully as soon as Katie got her first line out, BAM, we were there! We were in the moment, as our characters, and we were dead on. We were better than we'd been in any of our rehearsals, and the class laughed non-stop through the entire scene just like they were supposed to. Mr. D. liked to use images to get to the core of a character, and when he was giving us notes he had proudly told me I'd reminded him of an "aggressive sparrow." It was a compliment. I swear.

Oh, here's a question for all you cellphone users, who is your provider and what would you say are the pros and cons of your particular service? What sort of calling plan do you have? How is your reception? Are you happy with your service? I've decided I'm gonna get a cellphone because it will save me money in the long run, so I've been asking all my friends who I should sign up with. For a while it was between T-Mobile and Verizon. Now I'm pretty sure I'm gonna go with Verizon, but I still want to hear what other people have to say about their providers. So...lay it on me!

I, my dear, am with Cingular, which has had very good reception, as Cori said. But because I am switching plans this coming week and work through my uncle's employee discount, I can't tell you much about the price. What I do know is that in previous months I got nailed with roaming. Icky. Like sex with a FIJI icky. (Oooooh.)

Cingular and AT&T recently teamed up, which is supposed to translate into better coverage and reception, but I'm skeptical. It could be a Midwest thing.

Every once in a while, this web site called SoYouWanna.com gives some good advice. I've just reread their article on buying cell phones and I think it might help. (In turn, they also link to a site called LetsTalk.com, which should also help.)

Worse to worst, you can buy a prepaid phone to ease yourself into things. While making this decision is nowhere as important as others, there is a contract involved, and early termination fees can be very costly, like $175 or more.

Hope my two cents help.
