Guess who is gonna be in Galesburg the last week of December?

That's right, yours truly. I've yet to make the train reservations, still deciding if I wanna shell out the $880.00 dollars for a sleeping car to and from, or if I can be content with the $200.00 round trip coach fare. One way or the other silent_t has already taken that week off from work so if I don't show up she's out a weeks pay, and the last thing I want to do is cause her more financial stress. I've no choice but to show up :-D

I'll probably be at Knox from Dec. 27 - Jan 1 when absolutely no one is on campus. It's a shame. I'd love to see some of my seniorly Knoxian friends, it would be a huge plus, but this trip is about Tina. I haven't seen her in almost a year and a half. That's the longest we've been apart since we met six years ago. Isn't that crazy? I spent day and night with this woman throughout college, and I miss her terribly. This trip is all about spending time with my sweet Tina Rina who I love more than my luggage!!!

I'm also gonna try to see some Chicago folk during my two layovers in the windy city. kdc4evr has agreed to have lunch with me when I pass through on the 1st. Gonna see if I can get a hold of Libby, try to con her into having lunch with me on the 28th. Haven't seen that lovely lady in a couple years either. If I'm successful I will have packed quality time with three of my best friends into a 5 day period. Go me!

If anyone else wants in on the action, if you're gonna be on campus early, or you're gonna be hanging around Union Station that week, lemme know. We'll make an appointment to share some love :-D

Welp assuming my train gets into Chicago on time (which it won't) I'll have roughly 5 hours to kill, in theory that is. Now, when the train rolls into Union Station two hours behind schedule, I'll have about three hours to kill. How long is the Metra ride to Crystal Lake?

*squeals ecstatically* DUDE DUDE DUDE DUDE DUDE!!!! Your reply made me bounce up and down in my chair like a six year old on a sugar high. I would sell my mom for a chance to see you! (Granted, that's not much of a sacrifice on my part, but it's the thought that counts.) Please come see me! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!! I'm sure Tina would love to see you as well. (Though you should prolly email her first just to make sure it's all kosher.) And I haven't made ANY concrete travel plans yet. Obviously I'd need to get myself to Chicago, but if we could work out a way to make it to Galesburg together, I'd love to save the 200 dollars in train fare and put it towards gas instead.

We should talk on the phone. See what we can arrange.

That's a GREAT idea!!! I probably won't be getting into Chicago until the 28th, but if it's all the same to you I would LOOOOVE to drive down with the both of you. I'm gonna attempt to give both of you a ring tonight.
