It always surprises me when you say that because your poems are so narrative and you always end up telling a story through them. I think you just have a mental block when it comes to fiction.
but poems are all concise and dont require things like plot or character development or even conflict & resolution like stories do - my poems are just like episodic or something, that I can do I guess, anything more and it just turns into a big mess
Run-on stories don't require plot, chracter development, OR conflict resolution!!! They're all about being as stupid and outrageous as you possibly can!!! I should let you read "The Adventures of Octo-Doberman." It's this epic run-on that me and twelve friends write while we were doing "Showboat" one summer. Oh man it's totally cracked out! We were all just trying to top one another. There was no attention paid to plot or story line or chracter development, we just wanted to make ourselves laugh. That's what run-on's are all about, making people laugh.
