In a comment to this entry, post your favorite memory of something me-related. Have I said something or done something that stuck in your brain-meats? Something from real life, something online, something positive or negative, I don't care..just whatever comes to mind. And then post it in your own journal and see what people remember about you!

There was a period of time where whatever I posted or you posted, one of us was always there to say "yeah, I feel/felt like that too".

It always made me feel good, like I wasn't alone in my depression or alone in whatever it was that I felt at the time.

Flunk Day, May 4 [I'm pretty sure of that date], 1999.
I believe we sang (Janis Joplin, Me and Bobby McGee), for the amusement (and perhaps horror) of those around us.
Were we bad? Yes. Do I still have the tape as evidence? Yes.
I don't understand how we could have been so bad; we had practiced singing that all year.

I wish I remembered some Carla-isms. When I remember some, I'll come back and add to this.

Do you remember when you corrected/copy-edited the Flunk Day poem for grammar, diction, and style and then we taped it to our door?
I have that, in my files, somewhere.

There was a Flunk Day poem? And I copy-edited it for shits and giggles?

I'm still looking for it. It mostly was to make sure people knew to drink out of their designated plastic cups, and not to go completely crazy. Which is stupid, because that's the entire purpose of Flunk Day.

I really like the Tara/Willow usericon that you have. I know, it seems silly, but it sticks with me the most.

I remember the night that a friend told me you Liked me (with a capital "L"), and I was totally shocked because, well, I'm totally clueless and people have to beat me over the head with these things before I get them. Also, I remember the time we compared notes over people we had both slept with on campus, and you sent me those poems Rob wrote you, and hilarity ensued.

There is a private entry in my old journal that contains all of the horrible poetry Rob wrote to both of us. The entry is aptly titled "Verses That Hurt."

*groan* Should have read the word private. I just went to your old journal trying to find the damned entry.

Do you still have the poems anywhere?

I still have the hard copies of the ones he wrote me and I have yours saved in that entry. Would you like me to email them to you so you can laugh about them over coffee?

I have too many memories wit ya. But some of my faves are the day of my senior art show when I walked up to the Gizmo and there was pretty Carla with a big smile and big easter basket for me! I was so happy I hadnt gotten a easter basket since I was like 9, and this one even came with the bestest squishablest, cuddlest bunny ever. Also, Id have to say pinecone hockey...that was fun. Oh, and the many times you allowed me to use you for my drawing finals even though it never looked like you...Ohhh and last flunk day, that was good times, because you actually hung out with me...and maybe even had some fun!

I remember meeting you that first day of orientation in August, and you instructing me how to pronounce your last name and spell it. Also, I remember how hot it was in our room, and Galesburg had run out of fans...we broiled.
I remember your rant on the word "orientation" because it caused people to say "orientate", a non-word.
I remember sitting with you in Libby's room, watching the two of you study and chat.
I remember taking the bus with you to the mall (if you can call it that) and having to deal with comments from area Galesburgers. "Those earrings are so purty."
I remember flirting shamelessly with Erin and then trying to be happy for you when you two were dating. (Bad Jay.)
I remember feeling like the Knox pariah and then having cheese-related items with you in the Caf or Gizmo, which made it all better.
I remember how much you disliked my ex, Debbie. You were right.
I remember how we'd get tired of each other only to rediscover the way our friendship works.
I remember staying up most of the night winter/spring term, watching tv and smoking in the basement. Melly and Carla show!
Do you remember defacing those "no smoking" signs?
I remember borrowing endless quarters from you...I wonder if I ever payed you back.

Dude I totally remember the whole "oriented" vs. "orientated" agrguement. I still maintain that "oriented" was the way to go.

I still tell people the story about that lady on the bus. It's my quintesential "hick" story.

Cheese makes everything better :-D

I remember you didn't like any of the guys I fooled around with either. YOU were right.

"Carla and Melly, Carla and Melly show. QUEERS!"

I remember that day we pulled down the no smoking signs. It was classic. We went down to the basement for a smoke, and were a little peeved because the signs hadn't been there the day before. We both just sorta stared contemptuously at them for a couple minutes, and then without looking at each other or exchanging any signal we simultaneously walked over to the wall and ripped off the signs. I kept mine as a souvenir. I still have it.
