Oh man did last night suck ass. Approximately two seconds after typing the r in "later" I was hit with a terrible dizzy spell. One minute all was well and the next, the entire room was spinning. When I tried standing I damn near fell over, my sense of balace thrown completely outta whack. I also felt very nauseated. It was just like that Saturday I had to leave early...only worse.

I was finally able to make my way back to Elisabete's office where I sat with my head down for about 45 minutes to no avail. Eventually Don just told me to go home, so I did. Climbed in bed and slept for a nice long while. Feeling better today but since this is the second time I've had a debilitating dizzy spell in a three week period I think it's time to see a doctor.

I used to get dizzy spells when I was really stressed out, like during midterms and finals at Knox. Typically the dizziness would last for half and hour and abated if I layed down. But I'm not stressed out this week, nor was I stressed when it happened in Februrary. I thought it may be connected to my PMS since in Feb. it occurred right before my period hit, and at present I'm a week away from the onset. But if it's PMS then why am I developing this symptoim now? Why haven't I had dizzy spells before? The big question is what's causing this? Thus far everyone and their mom has offered a suggestion...

Tony suggested that maybe I wasn't getting enough to eat.(A distinct possibility. I've been cutting down on my food intake for about three weeks, even since the last spell. I stopped eating sugary foods, consuming caffeine, and over eating. I've been putting far less into my body than I'm used to.)

Laura and Jennifer both asked if I were Anemic. (Another distinct possibility. After looking up the symptoms online I have to admit I have about half of them: fatigue, headaches, dizziness, depression, rapid weight loss, unusually pale skin, feeling cold all the time. I checked the nutritional information on everything I ate today and none of it contained any iron. Gonna need a doctor to confirm but I think this is the best explanation.)

Just so happens that dizzy spells are a symptom of just about every known illness in the western world, everything from high blood pressure to anti-depressant withdrawl. I could suffer from any and all of it.

So..yeah, tomorrow I make doctors appointment to find out what the hell is wrong with me, and until then I take it slow, and sleep alot.

or it could also be a combination of withdrawl (from the lack of caffeine) & anemia

lack of caffeine & sugar could also account for the fatigue & headaches

dizzy spells are not fun

feel betters
