Horrible and Canadian
Jan. 14th, 2004 05:40 pmToday I discovered one of the few positive aspects of shelf reading: it allows you to avoid all social contact when you're in a shitty mood.
My back is feeling okay. Hasn't been hurting at all. Hope it stays that way.
Wanted to go to the Broadway Diner for lunch. Walked to 57th street to find that it went out of business.
And last night I watched that horrible Canadian film Seb loaned me. What can I say? It was horrible and Canadian. Much like my ex-boyfrind Marc. This makes Seb 0 for 2. Dare I say...he needs to improve his taste in movies.
I haven't been able to find any stories or poems to lend him. I've been through every poetry and short story book I own and I can't find ANYTHING I like! I've never liked short stories so it's no surprise I couldn't locate any I wanted to pass on, but poems!!!!??? Poems I used to love now come off as trite, superficial, and in some cases whiney. Even the spoken word stuff I used to love. It all sounds so.....juvenile now. Very underdeveloped. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone!
Why can't Seb like novels?! I could recommend novels up the wazoo. And what kind of freak English Major doesn't read novels anyway? How damn short is his attention span? Pisses me off that I can't give him the stuff I really WANT to give him. Grrr.
