morrigirlI'm on a poetry kick now.
This is Maggie. She is one of the poets who inspired me to start writing poetry when I was fourteen. I spent a good deal of my youth trying to be exactly like her. Most of my early poems were imitations of hers. I love her. I'm not too keen on her prose but I love her spoken word.
The first clip is from the early nineties when she was up and coming. The poem is titled "The Stupid Jerk I'm Obsessed With." It is one of her signature pieces.
This performance is more recent, probably from this decade. The poem is called "I'm An Emotional Idiot."
