10) The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy - Douglas Adams
Just thought I'd post that because I found it on a stray piece of paper while cleaning my (dining) room. Wanted to copy it down some place else so I could throw it away. Random pieces of paper take up a lot of room.
This whole cleaning process is very tedious. It's not the big stuff thats the problem, it's the little things. I know where to put clothes, and books, but I'm not sure where to store bills, dolls, cosmetics etc. I don't have enough shelves, or drawers or surfaces. Just have to keep picking through boxes, seeing which ones I can throw out and which ones I can keep and put new stuff in.
I keep finding things I didn't even know I had: old cartons of tea that's prolly no good any more, cards that Heather made me, trinket's that Gayle has sent me over the years, unlabelled tapes. I don't remember how I used to organize everything. I don't know how my cassette's are organized, or my photo albums, or my postcards, or my memory box. It's all one huge mystery, and as the space by my bookshelves gets clearer the room in front of the doorway gets smaller. At present I have a suitcase and several boxes blocking it. Maybe I'm subconsciously trying to keep people out. Trying not to let anyone see my shit until I've got it together.
It's a theory.
