The Birthday That Wasn't
Jun. 20th, 2006 09:19 amToday I am 27.
This year I had a couple of celebratory birthday events in the works, all of which had to be cancelled. The girls had been planning a big ole trip to Six Flags, but it fell through due to scheduling conflicts. Mom, MIke, and I were supposed to have dinner in Bronxville tonight, but since my stomach was acting up again yesterday I decided eating rich restaurant food wouldn't be such a good idea for me today.
So what am I doing today? Nothing. I'm at work...working. I will do laundry later tonight. I will read my book. I'm kind of sad. Though I truly hate it when people make a huge deal out of my birthday, I do enjoy low key celebration. Dinner, a movie, good friends, good food, that sort of deal. But there's none of that this year. I wish my body wasn't being stupid. Then at least I could go out to eat with my family :-(
On the up side, the bus driver only made me pay 75 cents to ride the bus this morning, and Michael is buying me two tickets to go see Avenue Q for my birthday.
Oh, and today is my one year anniversary of being offered this job. Did I mention my yearly review is coming up? I've never been through one of those before. I'm a bit spooked.
And Happy Birthday to
a_deal_with_god who turns 27 today also :-)
