Two of my co-workers, Adele and Nancy, invited me out to lunch this afternoon. We drove into Tuckahoe and ate at this really good mexican restaurant. Afterwards we went across the street and poked around in this little 99 cent store. It was all very pleasant. Nancy and Adele are both funny ladies and it was terribly nice of them to invite me out with them especially since I'd had almost zero interaction with either of them up to this point. On Monday Adele saw me walking up the road to the shopping center and offered me a ride. She asked me how I usually got home and I told her I took the bus but that since I always missed the 4:50 I had to find ways to busy myself until the 6:07 rolled around. She was so concerned that I had to wait around for an hour after getting off work that she approached Scott yesterday and got him to agree to let me go 15 minutes early every other day just so I wouldn't have to wait around for 5 hours a week.

In my first week here I've already been shown more compassion and understanding than I saw in almost two years at NYIT. It's so nice. People around here are so much happier then the clock punchers at NYIT. There's more leeway to take long lunches, breaks, leave early and yet more work gets accomplished. I'm thinking NYIT should hold an informational seminar for the administration on the topic of how happiness increases productivity. The presentation should include a big ole line graph showing how productivity at the school has gone down in proportion to job dissatisfaction.

I haven't been feeling very well this week. I've had headaches, body aches, stomach aches, and one brief dizzy spell. Partly it's the weather. All this heat can make one light headed and sluggish even when you are properly hydrating yourself. I'm also PMSing this week so that explain the stomach aches and irritability. Plus my daily commute requires a total of almost 2 miles of walking everyday and that'll suck the life right outta you with all this humidity.

I've come home every night absolutely exhausted. Here's my nightly ritual: after locking the door to my apartment I go upstairs and turn the AC down to 60 degrees. I then proceed to rip, yes, rip, every last stitch of clothing off my body. I prepare dinner in the nude, eat it in the nude, and then drop nude onto my bed and try not to get up until I decide to turn out the lights and go to sleep. I owe a lot of people a lot of phone calls. I need to call Tina, Heather, Mom, and Elisabeth. I need to send Matt and Adrienne their books. I need to remind the Heathers that they've got to send me their snail mail addresses so I can get their books out to them as well. I need to go down to my mom's house and pick up my mail. I'm sure there are some bills to be paid. Oh, I owe mom some money too. Need to write her a check. Need to transfer funds from my savings account to my checking account so I can write those checks. Need to remember to ask my boss how and when to fill out time sheets and who to turn them in to. I need to learn how to remember shit.

But now it's 5:00 and my boss just wished me a good night so I should go upstairs, put my hair back up in a bun so it doesn't get all sweaty when I leave Swinford, and start walking up to the bus stop.

Talk to you all later.
