Bored Realizations

morrigirlWow, I just realized that it is exactly a week until my birthday. Who the hell knew? I mean, I know I've been keeping a birthday list and all but, I started it, like, months ago! I never expected the damn thing to roll around so soon! 23 in a week *shudder.* Okay people I need some help, since I haven't been thinking about it I have no idea what to do. What do YOU think I should do for my birthday? What IS there to do when you have no friends, hate drinking, don't party, and still have an entire life to rearrange?
And speaking of arrangements, I was able to talk mom into letting me arrange the dressers in the dining room the way I want them. (We got new dressers, whoo hoo.) I just asked if we could arrange them the way I like them for the three months I'm here, and then once I leave she could move them to wherever the heck she wanted. She liked that idea. However I am opperating under the assumption that by the time I leave she will have become so accustom to my arrangement she will be too lazy to change it. Then it will continue to stay the way I like it. It is after all my room, I think I should have some say in how the furniture is positioned.
And speaking of rooms, I've started organizing my clothes and papers, and CDs, and tapes, and knick knacks and you know what I've discovered? I HAVE TOO MUCH SHIT! Amazing seeing as I purposely dumped a load of stuff before I went away to college. Actually I don't have all that much stuff. I have a closet and half a room full of stuff that is legally mine. In an apartment of my own it would all look very flimsy and sparse. I think it's more a matter of having too much shit for the amount of space alotted to me in this house. Dick has less shit then I do and he gets and entire ROOM to keep it all in! I get a couple of corners and a dresser, that's it! I think I'm beginning to understand how trapped Michael must have felt when he lived here. There is no room for the person sleeping in the dining room, simply because mom wont give up her strong hold on it! She expects a person to sleep and live in there yet at the same time she expects it to remain a perfect dining room fit for entertaining. NEWS FLASH: Bedrooms are only good for naughty entertainment. She is severely deluded in thinking she can have a dining room/bedroom. She needs to have one or the other because it just isn't fair to the person living in there to have such limited space.
I've also realized I have too many papers and no way to organize them. I swear I think I've got it down to the bare essentials and I still have no where to put all my stories, records, contracts, etc. The boxes just dont cut it, they provide little to no organization. I'm thinking I might like to have a file cabinet like the one Michael has here. That would be perfect, then I could just store everything in little files that could collect dust and take up limited space and be totally organized all the time. Maybe I should add that to my birthday list.
