The Night Needs to End

morrigirlPeople are being particularly obnoxious today. Got one student beating up on the copier machine rather than asking anyone to show him how to operate it properly. Got another who, no matter how many times I try to explain, can't understand that he needs to position his paper vertically rather than horizontally to get it to copy properly.
All these men walking around the city with big bouquets of roses in their hands. It's mildly depressing. Just like every other Valentine's Day on record, I'm not gonna do or get anything. I'm gonna work, go home, eat pizza, and lament that I don't have anything good to read.
Saw awful theater this weekend. Went with Michael to the 14th St. Y to see this terrible adaptation of Wuthering Heights called "Wuthering High." It was Emily Bronte a la John Hughes. So horrible. The two leads were the weakest actors in the entire cast, but they wrote the script so of course they gave themselves the choice parts. The guy playing Heathcliff had no idea what a "build" was. They lifted a lot of dialogue from classic 80's teen films, and while it was cute at first it became so overwhelming that I started to think "God guys can't you, ya know, write some ORIGINAL dialogue for this moment?" A truly discouraging night at the theater.
Mike emailed me today and asked if I'd be willing to serve as a crew member for Martin Denton's book launch party this coming Sunday. I haven't written him back yet, but I'll probably say yes. Never worked a book launch before. Might be interesting.

divineagl baked brownies and brought them into work for everyone. That certainly brightened the most boring work day of the week.
