The Stupid, it BURNS!
Feb. 1st, 2007 04:20 pmA few quotes taken from this article on that whole Aqua Teen mishap in Boston:
"It's clear the intent was to get attention by causing fear and unrest that there was a bomb in that location." - Assistant Attorney General John Grossman
"I find it kind of ridiculous that [the authorities are] making these statements on TV that we must not be safe from terrorism, because [the electronic ads] were up there for three weeks and no one noticed. It's pretty commonsensical to look at them and say this is a piece of art and installation" - Peter Berdovsky, one of the accused.
In Seattle and several suburbs, the removal of the signs was low-key. "We haven't had any calls to 911 regarding this," Seattle police spokesman Sean Whitcomb said Wednesday.
Police in Philadelphia said they believed their city had 56 devices.
The New York Police Department removed 41 of the devices — 38 in Manhattan and three in Brooklyn, according to spokesman Paul Browne. The NYPD had not received any complaints.

Dear Boston Law Enforcement and Political Officials,
The only reasonable explanation I can come up with for pressing charges against a couple of dudes and a broadcasting company that were merely advertising a television show is that you must feel really, really, stupid for having called out the bomb squad to detonate what ultimately turned out to be a few neon signs. Finding out the ads had already been up in Boston for three weeks, as well as ten other major cities across the US, and hadn't attracted any notice during that time must have added massive insult to injury. Realizing that you were, in fact, the ones causing "fear and unrest" by shutting down an entire city with your ridiculously over the top response to a couple of lights hooked up to a battery, rather than admitting your own stupidity, you feel the need to have your behavior justified and the behavior of those whose actions highlighted your idiocy declared criminal through a long, drawn out, time and money wasting trial that will only heighten civilian fear in this "post 9/11 world."
Do everyone a favor and put your dicks back in your pants.
No Love,
Me

I've noticed that my posts have been getting more political and current events oriented lately. I don't know what that's about.
