Showing my Bank Account Some LOVIN!!!
Nov. 3rd, 2003 08:15 pmI am a rich woman! Got paid today for a month's worth of work. Got two paychecks: one was for 703 dollars, the other was for 750. Can we say, WOW?! When I deposit those babies I will have more money in my savings account than I've EVER had!!! EVER!!!!!!!!!! I was so NOT expecting them to be this big! Everyone told me I wouldn't get as much as anticipated because of taxes and what not. I was thinking I'd MAYBE get a 300 dollar paycheck. Shows you what I know! I swear, when I saw those numbers I nearly fainted.
Moving on, Victor and I were discussing chairs today, and how very easy they are to fall out of. Made me think of the time freshman year when I wiped out in front of
skoriaan. That was back when he and I were still in the preliminary stages of our...whateverness. We'd been hanging out in my room all afternoon just cuddling and talking and all that good stuff when the phone rang. I got up, went over to my desk and answered it. It was Libby. I sat down at my desk and tipped my chair back a little. We chatted for a few minutes before I lost my balance, fell backwards, slammed my head on Melissa's desk chair, and crashed onto the floor. Not the greatest way to impress the guy you like. All three of us were in stitches for a good ten minutes.
Speaking of Victor, I'm still running hot and cold on him. He's a great guy don't get me wrong. Funny as all get out. And I find it really easy to relate to him cause he's still a student. But he is one lazy library aid. Seriously he never does anything, and then he wonders why the rest of the staff yells at him for it. He's only here 5 hours a day, two days a week, and the boy has the nerve to take 5 15 minute breaks a day! What the fuck man!? Still, I find myself defending him more often than not. I remember what it was like to be a student aid, and I must admit, NYIT is a lot harder on their aids than Knox ever was. Anne never gave us busy work. When the real shit was done, she just let us do homework. Not here. Soon as Victor finishes the important stuff, they simply make up new and pointless work just to keep him busy. It's pretty lame, not to mention a waste of his energy especially considering that he works two jobs and goes directly to his second one after leaving the library. The kid doesn't get home till after midnight most evenings. So while one half of me is aggravated by his bahavior, the other half understands it. And he has enough people on his case as is. Today Jennifer, Mary, AND Carol all chewed him out at once. I figure I'll just try to sit back and be the cool librarian, the Jason Connell, the one the aids can bitch to without fear.
...I still wish he'd do more work though.
My wounds are healing nicely. the scabs are starting to peel off. Hopefully I'll be looking normal again by Wednesday.
Haven't listened to Lou Reed yet. Gotta do that by Wednesday because Sebastien's gonna wanna know what I thought of it. Haven't watched the last episode of Angel yet. Gotta do THAT by Wednesday as well so I can record the next one.
