Hit and Run - SCN
Jul. 13th, 2003 03:40 amI realize I haven't written anything substantial in here in a couple days, so this is gonna be a quick update for anyone who still cares.
Went over to Mike's place tonight and watched Tuck Evelasting, which was a pretty good movie. The book was better but then again the books always are. One way or the other I wound up crying at the end. It's just so sad. Jesse and Winnie should be together. They love each other. But life and death are cruel. Even though Tuck Everlasting is a pre-teen novel it is still one of the most well written books I have ever read, and I highly recommend it regardless of age.
After the movie the two of us got online and browsed printers on Dell.com. Mike also introduced me to the addictive pleasures of craigslist and imdb.com. Both sites are totally evil. On imdb you can keep a list of every movie you have ever seen!!! Mike's list contains over 1000 movies and he hasn't even made it to 1988 yet!!!!!
And craigslist! That site is evil in a good way. I found 9 job listings that sound really promising. It also has cheapo apartment searches!!! I know where I'm going when I have enough dough to move out!!!!
Ah, and speaking of dough, I got an email from Theresa (Josh's roomate) today. Said she has a lead on a job and wanted a copy of my resume to pass on. Bless her heart. She said she was gonna find me a job and so far she has made good on the promise. At least she is making an effort. She is a woman of her word.
And she told me to ignore everything Josh said to me. She was just like, "don't pay attention to anything he says until AFTER the bar cause right now his head is up his ass." Those weren't her exact words but...they're pretty close.
Just so you know, I spoke to Josh on the phone last night. I don't feel like explaining the whole thing here because I've been keeping pretty sufficiant track of the events in my top secret journal. So, to put it simply, I have no idea whats going on between the two of us. He's just being a stupid boy who doesn't know what he wants. Shock. *rolls eyes*
Someone please be honest with me: Do boys EVER grow up?
Enough boy stuff. I hate writing about boys. That's why I'm trying to do it elsewhere these days. Anyway, Joan gave me a new book yesterday. It's called "I'd Rather be Writing." It looks pretty good. Gonna read it as soon as finish the Homicide book.
And believe it or not, I've started writing a short story. First one I've attempted in about a year. I have the first page. Not gonna tell you what it's about because...I'm jst superstitious and like to keep my subject matters quiet. But I am very proud of myself for having the inspiration and motivation to begain writing again. There may just be hope for me yet.
