A brief summary of all the stuff I haven't written about over the last week or so.
1)Haven't been feeling very motivated this week. Put off the two papers that are due tomorrow until the very last minute. Been sleeping a lot for no reason. Couldn't figure it out at first, then I realized that Kirk's birthday is tomorrow and my body has been anticipating it. It's taken every ounce of my energy just to stay focused on minor activities this week, so I'm emotionally and physically drained. I've been walking around like a zombie all week. I move and I nod and I talk but my mind has been on Kirk every moment. I should be celebrating with him, not mourning the fact that I never got the chance.
2)Emailed Clark today and asked him to call me tomorrow. I'm gonna need support. I don't want to completely fall apart.
3)Ate a couple of meals with Agnes this week. We comiserated over not knowing anyone in the caf. She showed me her apartment. And she emailed me a copy of the Gashlycrumb tinies, and I laughed my ass off.
4)Finally got a chance to speak with Will as well. The girl he liked gave him the let's just be friends speech. Poor him. Surprisingly, he didn't know about Kirk so we spoke about that as well. He's a honey.
5) Began constructing my postcard wall in the miving room. Almost got it totally covered now. I'm very proud of myself.
6)Amy Watts was visitng this weekend. We caught up with each other. She suggested we bake a cake today in honor of Kirks birthday. We made a chocolate cake with chocolate icing and it was yummy. We went to the Gizmo and gave away pieces. It was a sweet idea but I don't think it had the desired effect on me. It was supposed to be a celebration of Kirk's life, but explaining to people why we were having a birthday for someone who wasn't there put something of a gray cloud over the idea. I think people thought we were weird and morbid. But making the cake was a nice distraction at any rate. and now we have the left overs to feast on.
7)Homecoming is next weekend and 4 alums will be staying in our apartment. Chris and Evie in the living room, Gayle and Heather in mine. Welcome to the terrordome.
