morrigirlYesterday I changed my bandages for the first time, and was delighted to discover that the incision on my leg is so tiny as to be practically non-existent. Well...okay maybe that's over stating it, but the cut is remarkably smaller then I was expecting it to be. It doesn't hurt at all, though it is pretty scary looking. Due to all the squeezing the skin around the incision is all yellow and purplish, not to mention dry and inflamed because of the adhesive bandages. Though it looks worse than it is, I can still feel a little bump under my skin. I'm afraid the doc may not have drained the entire thing. I hope it subsides over the next couple weeks, giving me no cause for worry. But if it doesn't, it's back to the dermatologist for me.
I've stayed home from work all week, thus using up the last of my sick days until next October. Turns out my "severe cold" the symtoms of which were attributed to the cyst, is actually a sinus infection. I returned to the regular doctor today and she presribed antibiotics. I still feel poopy. At least now I can start on the long road to recovery :-p
And I forgot to mention how my interview at the NYU law library went. Eh, it was okay but within the first 5 minutes it was clear that I was not what they were looking for. I was too young, too inexperienced, and had never worked with periodicals or legal materials. My interviewers seemed less than impressed, and since they were so un-enthused about me, it was hard for me to muster much enthusiasm for them. While the job was perfect on the surface (12K pay raise, work independently, no patron contact, regular 9-5 hours, and the opportunity to take graduate level writing classes for free,) the people just didn't seem very friendly. I don't think I would have been happy there. They said they'd contact me this week, I've not heard from them, I seriously doubt I will. Whatever. Just gotta keep sending out those resumes. Someone in this city is bound to be interested in hiring me to do low impact work for high pay.
Getting dizzy. Time to lay down again.

Date: 2004-12-16 02:18 pm (UTC)I don't know if they already gave you something for your skin being inflamed where the bandages are, but when I was getting my ribs taped for days at a time a couple of months ago, and it cut up my skin and what not; I used neosporan, and it worked well.

Date: 2004-12-16 07:51 pm (UTC)I'm already using neosporin to keep the incisions from getting infected, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything for the inflamation.
