I have another cyst. This time it's on my upper thigh, just an inch or so from where my leg meets my trunk. It's not one of those here today, gone tomorrow cysts either. I noticed this one on Friday and it has only gotten bigger and more painful over the weekend. I went to the doctor today. Doctor referred me to a dermatologist who I'll be seeing tomorrow morning. He'll probably drain and remove the darn thing, just like they did with the other. Procedure itself isn't too bad, it's the healing that takes a while. They basically cut out the bad stuff leaving a nice hole in your flesh. Junior year it took about three months for the incision under my breast to heal. Thankfully this new one isn't in a particularly troublesome area. It's on a part of my thigh that I never put pressure on, and that never comes in contact with any binding clothing, so at least there won't be anything to irritate it while it's healing. With the one under my breast...that was an experiment in terror. Cyst the size of a quarter right on the fold where breast meets body. Ouch. Not only was the incision on a fold and therefore always being stretched, making it difficult to scab over, but the underwire on my bras was positioned directly over the wound, always scraping over it. I had to wear sports bras that entire term. It was the only kind that didn't cause me intense pain.
I also have a very bad cold that the doctor suggested might be a result of the cyst. If it has become infected it could be the cause of my sore throat, coughing, runny nose, and over all feeling of ickiness. *shrugs* Guess the dermatologist will tell me for sure.
I got my cellphone today, which means all you important people will soon be getting a mass email containing my new contact information.
That is all. I feel like crap. I think I may lie down.
