Here's the latest update from the Clark/Criscuolo branch of the family:

1) Cathy is out of the hospital. Heard the news from Michael. Came as something of a shock to Mom since Greg called her just last night to tell her Cathy was finally ready to have visitors...AT the hospital! But apparently she has made an unprecedented recovery. She can walk, she has full range of motion in her arms, she's talking, she's eating and digesting whole foods, so yesterday the hospital said "Okay, you're doing great, go home." This after a month of hearing nothing but "She may never walk again, she may never recover full use of her arms," etc. It's nice to hear she's doing better but...I can't help but feel a little uneasy about her speedy release. I mean, the doctors initially said she'd be looking at years of rehabilitation. I'm hoping they weren't too hasty in letting her go home.

2) My dear darling dipshit of a nephew Giancarlo has managed to get himself left back this year. Yes, the poor little schmuck is gonna have to repeat ninth grade. He is following in a fine Criscuolo tradition pioneered by yours truly.

3) Greg may very well be headed for Greece this summer. He has all but secured a job working on the fucking Olympics!!! I'm pretty sure that beats the hell outta "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit."

And wait, it all gets funnier. Since he's gonna be in Greece, Greg needs to figure out what to do with Giancarlo for the summer. Cathy may be out of the hospital but she's still not in any shape to look after him. So he was two choices A) take GC with him to Greece or B) (and this is the fucking kicker) send him down to Wilmington to hang with Dad for the summer!!! Of the two choices, GC is leaning towards Wilmington!

Lord did I laugh when I heard that! The boy is following in yet ANOTHER proud Criscuolo family tradition! All of us spent a summer down in Wilmington: Greg, Maria, Michael, me. It's a rite of pasage! Every teenager in the Criscuolo brood must spend one summer slaving away at Dad's (or in GC's case, Grandpa Lou's) theatre company. Mike and GC had a nice long conversation about it, he told him all about the rewards of spending time down south. About how he'd meet people he'd never meet otherwise, do things he'd never do otherwise, and of course there's the added bonus of Dad being, as Michael put it, "a parade unto himself."

I hope he decides to go. Maybe Dad can whip his punk ass into shape.

PS Michael and Danielle are here for the weekend. They are attending a friend's wedding today, and for the rest of the weekend...they're all MINE!!!! Must spend lots of quality time with them because theres no telling when I'll get to see them again.
