Breaking News
1) My friends page is all a-flutter with the news that Bill Clinton will be the 2007 Commencement speaker at our alma mater. Now that's a good husband, making an appearence at a dinky midwest college in preparation for his wife's presidential bid :-) Whatever his reasons, I totally have to go. This isn't even debatable. When the rumors about this started circling last year I said Slick Willy was one of the few things that could compel me to visit Knox. Even though my chances of actually seeing him are slim, security will be outrageous and I doubt there will be any of the accustomed loafing on the lawn by non-ticket holders, I still gotta try. God, between Bill, Homecoming, Social Security (story for another time,) medical expenses, and the fucking gigantic credit card bill I expect to face in January, I'll be surprised if I even still have a savings account come summer.
2) Yesterday, my mother got a Christmas card from my sister Maria announcing that she's pregnant and due in February. WHAT?! Maria, you've been pregnant for seven months and have only just gotten around to telling us NOW? Needless to say we were all a bit shocked. We knew she and Greg had been trying but...as of six months ago they were still failing. I am excited to have a new niece and/or nephew on the way. I hope it's a girl. I already have two nephews. I wouldn't mind having a niece to shower love upon.
