Because Gayle told me to
1) Reply with your name and I'll respond with something random about you.
2) I'll tell you what song/movie reminds me of you.
3) I'll pick a flavor of jello to wrestle with you in. (Management reserves right to substitute other substance.)
4) I'll say something that only makes sense to you and me. (Management will try very hard but not guarantee.)
5) I'll tell you my first memory of you.
6) I'll tell you what animal you remind me of.
7) I'll ask you something that I've always wondered about you.
8) If I do this for you, you MUST post this on your journal.

2) A song/movie reminds me of you: Girls Just Wanna Have Fun - Cyndi Lauper.
3) Flavor of jello to wrestle with you in: Unfortunately, ever since watching a very disturbing porn my freshman year of college I can no longer even LOOK at jello without feeling nauseated, so we'll just have to settle for the ball pit at Chuck E. Cheese.
4) Something that only makes sense to you and me: Tag! Have a rose.
5) My first memory of you: I remember you taking the SCN Religion forum by storm. You were the first really vocal atheist we had out there and I thought you were so cool, so articulate, and TONS more confident than me because it takes confidence to live without a God.
6) The animal you remind me of: A wee little parakeet.
7) Something that I've always wondered about you: Why do you fall in love with your friends so often?
8) Oh wait, you've done this. Time for me to go drop my name on yours huh?

and the only people who do take interest in me are ones who know me for who i am- and those people, more often than not, are friends of mine.

3) Flavor of jello to wrestle with you in: No jello. Jello bad. How 'bout butterscotch pudding instead?
4) Something that only makes sense to you and me: Jerry Springer!
5) My first memory of you: My first really clear memory of you is from the Where the Wild Things Are auditions. I remember the two of us reading together and Mary and Cori throwing all these weird scenarios at us and having to read the lines in bizarre character. And I remember being glad I got to read with you because I felt comfortable with you and knew i could let it all hang out with you as my partner.
6) The animal you remind me of: A rolly bug!
7) Something that I've always wondered about you: What's your trick to making everyone fall totally in love with you on sight?
8) Okay, my turn to put you through the ringer, heh heh.
In love with me??
If it really were absolutely everyone, that would make it rather interesting to go to the grocery store.

2) A song/movie reminds me of you: In the Springtime of His Voodoo - Tori Amos
3) Flavor of jello to wrestle with you in: Screw jello, we're gonna roll around in a big honking rain puddle!
4) Something that only makes sense to you and me: Llama's make ideal dinner companions.
5) My first memory of you: Meeting you in the caf when Moses dragged me in there all sick and runny for chocolate chip pancakes. You were wearing your glasses. And you seemed too cool for school.
6) The animal you remind me of: A little white kitten.
7) Something that I've always wondered about you: I know my reasons, but why do you keep getting back into Trouble?
8) Now we're even :-)
Re: hee hee
Who sings "Trouble" anyway, 'cause I wanted to download it but couldn't figure out the artist.
LLAMAS!!
why a white kitten?
hey, I don't know your reasons, there's something I don't know. Then again, I don't really know my own reasons. It's scary how fitting a code name Trouble is though. Because I finally realized that he's bad for me, but that doesn't stop me from seeing him or wanting to see him. Hmmm, well, it could be a stupid, teenage girl hope that one day he'll grow up & become someone actually worth dating & realize that he's in love with me. And also that I haven't met anyone else that I want to date, yet, so I'm still fixating on the past. Who knows
Re: hee hee
I said no, but I wasn't sure, hence this question.
My reasons?
Well I can honestly say I no longer harbor the slightest hope that he will ever be interested in me again, nor that he will grow up, realize that HE is the reason all his relationships go sour, and change his behavior.
So my reasons for sticking around are twofold: 1) I'm angry that none of the above is going to happen. I'm also angry that he has so much social and intellectual potential that he's too lazy to really utilize so I wanna be around to watch his life crash and burn. It gives the ever slighted woman in me pleasure.
2) I expected him to drop me a LONG time ago. But he hasn't and I know he values me as a friend even though we don't talk very often. He always makes time to see me when I'm around, always finds time to talk to me when I call. We've known each other for seven years now and to me that counts for something. Most of my friendships don't have so long a shelf life. So, even though I know he is bad for me as well, I keep this distanced friendship because we have a history and despite all the shit we hate about each other, we "get" one another. Though neither of us would ever admit it to the other.
Re: hee hee
I like your number 1. That's something Steph would never understand and that's something that I totally don't understand about her. If that makes sense.
I also agree with #2. Last time he called me, which was like 9 months ago, I was just happy he still had my number in his phone. And one thing I always like about him from day 1 was that I felt like he understood me w/o my having to explain myself. Like he saw through the facade of triviality.
Also, I send him an email on his birthday every year because there are so few people in the same class year as me who are younger than me, and I think it's funny that he's younger than me. And I know that he'll never write back.
Re: hee hee
Is Steph not the sort of person who wishes ill of others?
I've fogotten to send him birthday emails these last few years. At Knox it was easy cause his presence was a visual reminder. And even though I still mark it on my calendar I don't do anything to acknowledge it anymore. Yes, I'm a bad friend.
no one asked my opinion, so here it is

2) A song/movie reminds me of you: In the Weeds - Michelle Malone
3) Flavor of jello to wrestle with you in: Why don't we just roll around on the lawn in the middle of the New Quad?
4) Something that only makes sense to you and me: Nothing you can say or do will ever make me sing the red neck version of "Me and Bobby McGee" ever again!
5) My first memory of you: Didn't I write about this a few months ago? I hate having to repeat myself. I refer you to the March 29, 2005 journal entry entitled "Love Songs" if you need a refersher.
6) The animal you remind me of: You remind me of a cat. The kind that has been living in the house for 20 years and is still really bloody adorable but also really set in its ways and knows it has the family wrapped around his little paw.
7) Something that I've always wondered about you: At what point did you seriously start thinking you were trans and how did you arrive at that conclusion?
8) Your turn chico.
this is long
i always thought transitioning was something other people did. other people who are braver/crazier/less cowardly/less/more depressed than i. while i have my rebellious side, i guess, i've always played by the rules. but i'm tired of it. as i started to hear news of people i knew or used to know going through a female-to-male transition, i thought, well, why can they do that and i can't? and then it dawned on me that i was trans, and I *could* transition.
i was so sullen freshman year. do you remember? at that time i just desperately wanted being a boydyke to be the answer to all my sadness. it worked a little bit, but it kind of opened up the floodgates of "how masculine can i look/act/be?" and then i realized that i didn't want to stop at boydyke land. i've thought about this for five years now, and i've come to the conclusion that i may as well attempt transitioning. i couldn't be any unhappier, so making any sort of peace with myself, no matter what the price, would be worth it.

5) My first memory of you: I know you found me first. I can only assume you found me through an interest search because at the time we didn't have any communities in common. But I remember you commented on my journal, and then for a week afterwards I checked yours everyday, trying to guage if you were someone I wanted to add to my friends list. Your posts were funny, intelligent, and above all interesting, so I added you and you've provided me with hours of delight ever since.
7) Something that I've always wondered about you: Why do you hide your identity?
