Sunday Afternoon

Hello Journal,

I wanted to write last night but Laura was hogging the computer. Of course, coming at it now after a good night's sleep, yesterday doesn't seem like all that much to write about.

It was my second day of work. Apparently NYIT has abruptly fired all their student workers (without paying them I might add,) so yesterday it was just me and Sebastian in the library.

I felt like a great big lump. Since i'm new I still don't know where anything is, and I had to ask Seb to help me with just about every other transaction. Not that there were all that many transactions to help with. It was a really slow day. I sat at the circ desk and finished reading my Matrix Philosophy book which I might add was rather disappointing. Most of the essays in it didn't even focus on the Matrix, but issues that the Matrix itself raises stuff like the nature of reality, modern technology, stuff like that. I don't have anything against those topics, it's just that if you are going to put an essay in a film studies book about a particular movie, that essay should draw heavily upon the material in the film to make it's point. OUt of the whole book only THREE of the essays mentioned the movie more than in passing.

But I digress...

Yeah so I just sat at the desk all day doing nothing and feeling bad about it, because Sebatian had all this work to do and he was at his desk typing away all day long. Except for the last half hour when he came out front and talked to me while we closed up. We talked about books, and movies, and music, and it was cool.

Mom left yesterday for her weeks vacation in Florida. So thankfully I don't have to deal with her at all this week. Started reading my Buffy philosophy book which in it's first 23 pages is already better than the Matrix one.

And...tonight is Criminal Intent night :-D

That's all.
